Our client, SA Health, is progressively implementing the Enterprise Patient Administration System (EPAS)*, an electronic health record (EHR) for South Australian public hospitals and health services which has been designed and configured by SA Health to align with its business model.
Check out the videos produced by SA Health, which feature clinical and administrative staff sharing their experience using EPAS and talking about how it has changed the way they deliver patient care.
The new system places South Australian public hospitals and healthcare sites at the forefront of advancements in eHealth. Several quotes from the videos attest to how EPAS is changing the way clinicians deliver patient care:
“There will be continuous information available for clinicians about their patients at any site across SA Health…It is a system that will always be evolving. So it’s not locked in concrete, just as clinical care is not locked in concrete. It will improve and change as practice improves and changes.”
Professor Paddy Phillips, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Public Health Officer, SA Health
“Overall I’m very happy with EPAS, it’s really revolutionized my handling and treatment of patients in Port Augusta. As a result, it’s more streamlined, I see more patients, it’s more efficient. I’ve been happy, the patients are happy…it’s made a big difference.”
Dr. J.C. Hodge, ENT Surgeon, Royal Adelaide Hospital and Port Augusta Hospital
“Certainly a plus for us as nurses, it has more coherent and accessible care plans and care guides for patients…I think the delivery of care is better with EPAS.”
Geoff Killington, Associate Clinical Services Coordinator, Repatriation General Hospital
Special thanks to SA Health for sharing these insights with us, and for its continuing commitment to deliver excellent patient care.
